It has been a prayer of the leaders that the young people would really hunger for more of God, and over the last few months we have really seen this starting to happen.

Before the summer it was becoming evident that the young people didn't want to go home when the group finished. Amazingly this was nothing to do with the sports or games, or even their friends. Those who stayed wanted to ask questions, look at the Bible and even pray and worship together. WOW!

So, really Saltmine Extreme (aka Going Deeper) was tagged on to the end of The Saltmine to answer that need. The young people can attend either or both as they feel they want to. At the end of the first group we put all the games away and we just waited to see what was going to happen. We've done our first two weeks like this now and WOW does it work!

The first week we talked about righteousness and the effects of evil. Then we prayed "in the gap" (nothing to do with the jeans company). The second week we shared some really exciting stuff that God had been telling us, then we listened to some amazing songs sung to us by a great friend of The Saltmine, Brad Barnett.

The feedback we have had so far is that it is excting and especially for the ones who are not used to this kind of stuff that they love being together. I'm sure God likes that too!
