The Living Word

I'm just an age-old dictionary,
  no internet or computer in me.
No mention of a mobile phone,
  videos or CD.

I understand I'm treasured,
  and will not be thrown away.
I'm taken down and dusted,
  and returned for another day.

Next to me my friend the Bible,
  I know the truths that it contains.
But it's also just been dusted,
  and there it will remain.

I'm glad to have it's company,
  but do not understand.
Why the Living Word of God
  also has been banned!

I know I'm an ancient dictionary,
  and not now quite complete.
Don't expect to be used as often,
  or with modern ones compete.

If you have a Bible
  don't let it useless be.
Take it down and read it daily
  it won't need dusting then you see.

You will find it's words refreshing,
  relevant for today.
Progress will never diminish
  what the Bible has to say!
